Rural and Remote Innovation

Voices podcast out

A podcast journey through rural and remote places, told through the words of young people who live them — or have chosen to leave, stay, or return. Across Iceland’s Westfjords, Purchena in Spain, and Sardinia in Italy.

VOICES is a journey made of voices and stories — young people speaking of absences, belonging, and change. The podcast is one of the outputs of the "Voices from the fields" projct, which included a podcast training course which East of Moon held in hafnar.haus.

Each one of the participating communities: The Westfjords of Iceland, Purchena in Andalusia and Stintino in Sardinia, created three episodes, each with three distinct themes: Staying, leaving and returning. This invited for a dialogue on the similarities, but also particularities that each remote and rural community faces.

The 10 epidsodes of the Voices podcast are available on Youtube and Spotify, under the title "Voices from the fields".

VOICES is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, created by the association Absentia in collaboration with East of Moon and Illipula
